Thomas Aaron (CPDT-KA, ABCDT) and Linda Aaron (CPDT-KA) are the owners of FetchMasters, which is home of the Positive Gun Dog Training Program.

Tom is certified by the Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers (CCPDT), and Linda (also CCPDT certified) instructed canine and equine massage therapy for the Rocky Mountain School of Animal Acupressure and Massage before leaving that job to continue supporting the growth and success of FetchMasters.

They specialize in developing high-performance obedience and off-leash reliability in high distraction environments, as well as training bird hunting dogs (gun dogs) without the use of shock collars, choke chains, prong collars and other aversive equipment or heavy-handed techniques.

Tom grew up in West Virginia and was introduced to the dog world by his father who raised and trained hunting hounds. He spent his early years hunting for small game in the mountains of West Virginia with a dog known as a “bench-legged feist.”

Linda grew up in New Mexico, competing in junior rodeos and spending countless hours in the barn and pasture with her horse and faithful dog who watched over their family’s livestock.

After finding a Labrador Retriever puppy in the high desert near Alamosa, Colorado, Linda urged Tom to train the dog for bird hunting. It quickly became evident that a heavy-handed approach would not work on Alie. This led to them researching the capabilities of positive training methods.

Training and learning from thousands of dogs in the Denver area, in conjunction with reverse engineering several traditional gun dog training manuals, resulted in the predecessor of the methodology they use today. Additionally, since one of  their strengths naturally became training dogs in high-distraction environments, FetchMasters quickly became the go-to company for training off-leash reliablity in the Denver area.

Their knowledge has culminated in the formation of the region’s only Positive Gun Dog Training Program, the nationally known Positive Gun Dog Association, and being featured on the blog of Victoria Stillwell (host of Animal Planets “It’s Me or the Dog”), articles in Dogster magazine, and several other publications.

When not training gun dogs or traveling the country presenting workshops on positive gun dog training, Tom and Linda like to travel the world exploring other nations and cultures.
